Christine Chastain, SVP, Research & Strategy
Christine Chastain has over 18 years of experience as a creative, researcher and strategist in the up-front space of applied research and innovation. She has helped respected brands such as 3M, Nokia, Target, Best Buy, General Motors, Honda, P&G, Toyota, Pfizer, Smith & Nephew, Mayo Clinic and P&G to understand and plan for new consumer behaviors and the technologies that will impact consumers’ lives in the future. With a background in design and Ph.D. work in anthropology, Christine has led multi-cultural teams in global studies utilizing her knowledge of languages.
Christine came from an agency perspective on the creative side (McCann Erickson, Leo Burnett and Lintas) and then concentrated on uncovering, understanding and applying near and long-term futures insight for concept development and strategy (Advanced Portfolio Exploration Group at General Motors, Herbst LaZar Bell, a design and innovation consultancy and Mayo Clinic's Center for Innovation).
In a consulting capacity, Christine has worked across a wide variety of industries and can offer particular expertise in connecting human needs with strategic opportunities through the use business design thinking, qualitative research methodologies and cross-cultural understanding to make future consumers visible and to drive innovation and strategy.
Christine is an adjunct lecturer at Art Center College of Design, served on the ESOMAR Program Committee for the Global Healthcare Conference 2010 and is on the board of Nova University, where she is working on the first online M.A. program in qualitative research. She is passionate about utilizing combined methods and thinking in community settings and is currently working on the development of a community approach to healthcare with the Austin Medical Center (an affiliate of Mayo Clinic). ![]()
