Research Analyst, Quantitative and Qualitative Research
 
We are looking for entry-level quantitative and qualitative research analysts who are interested in learning how to do superior research while working with some of the best in the industry. Aside from basic quantitative skills like detail-orientation and a good grasp on statistics, we need the candidate to be naturally curious and have a passion for understanding human behavior. A high level of motivation and excellent communication skills are required to manage an incredibly diverse workload for some of the nation’s best-known brands in various industries. Flexibility to work on multiple projects and deadline-driven deliverable creation are equally important in this fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has very strong PowerPoint skills, can run basic statistical analyses, displays the creativity needed for writing effective questionnaires, and is very comfortable multi-tasking. Applicants should have a college degree and one to two years of market research or communications experience. Opportunities are available in Kelton’s New York and Los Angeles offices.

Responsibilities
  • Run basic quantitative analyses and be very comfortable working with numbers.
  • Handle logistics for quantitative research projects including; negotiating prices with vendors, managing the vendor relationship (including managing sample), scheduling and planning research engagements, monitoring fielding.
  • Manage logistics for qualitative research projects including screener development, facility interaction, recruitment monitoring, and on-site assistance during research.
  • Assist on final reports which could include; writing, analysis, data entry, chart/table creation in Excel or PowerPoint.
  • Test survey links and help ensure quality control.
  • Provide input on questionnaire/discussion guide design and methodological approaches.
  • Detailed note-taking on client calls and during focus groups.
  • As he/she grows in the position, candidate can look forward to more client contact, an increased role in business development and proposal writing/methodology creation, and a leading role in managing a project from start to finish.
Skills/Experience
  • Interest in working on both quantitative and qualitative research projects. 
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills and ability to create slides/graphs/charts that convey key research findings in compelling ways.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills; experience with SPSS or other analytical software is a plus.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing/communication skills.
  • Strong organizational/logistics skills.
  • Quick learner.
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to take a big picture idea and run with it.
  • Ability to independently solve problems.
  • Personal accountability and strong work ethic.
  • Professional, able to interact with vendors/clients.
  • Positive, “can do” attitude.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1-2 years work experience in a like role, though college graduates with relevant internship experience are also encouraged to apply.
